Routesetting

THE HUMBOLDT PARK TEAM

Yo Chi “Cheech” Lin

Yo Chi “Cheech” Lin

Senior Head Routesetter

Cheech has been climbing for 20 years, and setting for 17. Cheech sets at all the Chicago gyms, and he used to be an “itsy crimp on overhang” afficionado, but lately has been sharing his love between styles. His favorite place to climb is Squamish, B.C because “it is a magical temperate rainforest”.

Fun Fact: Cheech is a proud Cat Dad.

Dan Emrie

Dan Emrie

Routesetting Supervisor, Humboldt Park

Dan has been climbing for 11 years, and setting for about 8. You’ll find his routes and boulders scattered across all the Chicago gyms. He is notorious for his love of slippery slopers and has guidebook-esque knowledge of the Holy Boulders, and his favorite place to climb is Jackson Falls.

Fun Fact: Dan runs. A lot.

Alex Nero

Alex Nero

Setting Supervisor & Youth Team Coach

Nero has been climbing for 19 years and setting for 14. He sets at Humboldt Park and Avondale and he loves setting flowy climbs with fun movement, but doesn’t play favorites when it comes to grade or terrain.

Fun Facts: Nero has two songs on spotify and floats between a 15 and 20 handicap in golf.
