Coming soon: Approach launches at FA!

We are launching a new point of sale/client relationship management system called Approach designed specifically for climbing gyms at all FA locations on Monday March 13th, 2023!

That means we will no longer be using Mindbody after 3/13 – Approach will handle member and guest check ins, day pass and membership sales, class schedules, and everything else Mindbody currently handles for us.

Our goal with this change is to improve the FA experience for members, guests, and staff through faster check-ins, better online account management, and more tailored communication. We’re including a number of FAQs below to help you understand why we’re making this switch and help get you excited about what’s to come.

There is one thing you can do now to make this transition as seamless as possible: complete your waiver in Approach by March 12th!

You will need to complete a new waiver to launch your new profile in the system and check in after 3/13. Please complete your waiver by 3/12 so you can check in and go on your next visit!

FA members earn 500 FA Bonus points for completing their new waiver by Sunday 3/12! Points will be awarded on 3/15.

Approach FAQs

Approach was purpose-built for climbing gyms and has a number of capabilities that will make the day-to-day as an FA member or guest (as well as an FA staff member) simpler and faster.

Here are just a few of the long list of advantages Approach enables for you:

  • Ability to manage your account online more effectively, including membership changes, class signups, payment information, etc.
  • Less clicks to check in members and guests, saving time at the front desk
  • Family accounts that are easier to connect and manage
  • Friendly calendar view to see everything happening at your location
  • More communication on your journey at FA, tailored to your experience and communication preferences

And the list goes on! We hope you love Approach as much as we do once you get acclimated to it.

With any system change, there are always some things you like better about the new system and some things you miss about the old system, but we believe the pros strongly outweigh the cons with the switch to Approach.

One thing we want FA Members to be aware of: we will no longer be able to support the FA Bonus Check In and Class earnings with the new system. We are unable to make a connection between Approach and Perkville, our FA Bonus tracking system, to support these day-to-day earning opportunities.

Members will still be able to earn points for bringing in first time guests, referring new members, and completing special monthly earning opportunities.

We understand this change may be disappointing for some members, so we will award all current FA Members an additional 1,000 FA Bonus points once the new system launches as a “thank you” for your understanding on this change. As always, we will continue to evaluate ways we can make the FA Bonus a great rewards system for our members, and we’re grateful to have you as part of the FA member community.

 

Here’s the transition timeline:

3/1: Last monthly billing date in Mindbody

3/12: Last day using Mindbody for day-to-day operations

3/13: All day-to-day operations begin in Approach

4/1: First monthly billing date in Approach

All you need to do is complete a new waiver. We’ll take care of everything else! All membership, 10 Pass, class, or other pricing options will be carried over seamlessly from Mindbody to Approach.

If anything about your account doesn’t look right once we make the switch to Approach, please reach out to our Support Team (support@faclimbing.com) and we will correct your account as soon as possible.

We update our waiver from time to time to ensure it meets industry standards, and the Approach waiver represents the most up-to-date version. 

Completing your waiver in Approach ensures that an up-to-date waiver document is attached to your new account, something that’s required to complete a check in in Approach. It also launches your new online profile, where you can manage your FA account, sign up for classes, and more.

Overall, we believe the switch to Approach will make everyone’s life a bit easier, from FA members and guests to our Hospitality and Support Teams.

As we make the transition, we ask for your patience and understanding if the check in process is a little slower or if any account issues come up. We will do our very best to make this transition as seamless as possible, and we thank you in advance for bearing with us along the way.
