What to wear: We recommend wearing comfortable athletic clothing that allows you to move freely. Pants or long shorts that cover your knees are best. If you will be renting climbing shoes, we also recommend wearing socks.
What to expect: When you arrive, our friendly staff will get you checked in and geared up, then walk you through a facility and safety orientation, which typically takes 15 minutes. We appreciate your patience – this orientation is required, and it’s the best way for us to make sure you know where everything is and how to manage risk effectively while at First Ascent.
Belay Checks: If you have previous experience belaying on top rope or lead and would like to enjoy open roped climbing at First Ascent, please request a Top Rope or Lead Check when you arrive. Belay Checks are free, but they may take up to 15 minutes if there are others in line ahead of you. Thanks again for your patience – we’ll try to get you climbing as soon as possible.
